There are a variety of promotions and planned to keep you busy. You'll find some of these events detailed here; stay tuned to www.infineonraceway.com for more information. "Track Talk" - Friday, August 25th & Saturday, August 26th
Race fans are invited to the Wine Country Winner's Circle during the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma race weekend, August 25-27, for intimate question-and-answer sessions with top competitors on the Indy Racing League Series. Track Talk will take place two times over the race weekend: Friday at 1 p.m., and Saturday at 11:05 a.m. (all times PDT). Fans are encouraged to enter the winner's circle and ask questions of their favorite drivers, who will be making their only Northern California visit of the 2006 season. Driver Autograph Sessions - Saturday, August 26th
Fans will have a chance to meet many of the stars from the Grand-Am and Indy Racing League at the annual driver autograph session on Saturday. The Grand-Am session will take place from 10:00-11:30 and the IRL session will happen from 2-3 p.m. This event will be held in the paddock area behind the main grandstand and will be open to all fans. Don't miss your chance to get the autograph you've been waiting for! AAA Designated Driver Program - Sunday, August 27
This highly-successful program enters its second year in 2006 and is designed to educate people about the dangers of drinking and driving. The program is a partnership between AAA, Infineon Raceway and the California Highway Patrol. Those who decide to become designated drivers must fill out a pledge card under the direction of the AAA and CHP and they will be given a free bottle of water. Designated drivers will also become eligible to win great prizes throughout the day. Look for the booth in the main paddock on Sunday, August 27. Charity Auction - Sunday, August 27
Race fans can bid on the chance to take a lap around the world-famous road course with the top stars on the IRL IndyCar® Series circuit at the Charity Auction. The auction will take place in Wine Country Winner's Circle at 10:15AM and is open to all fans. All proceeds from the auction benefit needy youth groups in Sonoma County through Speedway Children's Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway. Spazmatics Concert - Saturday, August 26th & Sunday August 27th
The Spazmatics are a hilariously cool science nerd 80's pop synth new wave dance show. They perform a variety of music by bands including Flock of Seagulls, The Go-Gos, Oingo Boingo, The Cure, INXS, Duran Duran, Berlin, Madonna, Billy Idol and many more great bands that were popular in the 80's! This great band will perform behind the main grandstand on Saturday from 11:00AM-noon & 1:30-3:00PM, and Sunday from 11:15AM-noon & 1:00-2:30PM as part of the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma festivities.
