AUGUST 25-27, 2006

It will be the best of both worlds for motor racing fans when the IRL IndyCar® Series and the Grand-American Rolex Sports Car Series converge on Infineon Raceway for a memorable weekend of racing, Aug. 25-27. The IRL electrified the crowd with its debut at Infineon Raceway in 2005 as Tony Kanaan posted the victory in the first open-wheel race in the Sonoma Valley in 35 years. The series returns in 2006 and fans will be treated to that same excitement with drivers like 2005 champion Dan Wheldon, Helio Castroneves, Sam Hornish Jr. and Danica Patrick.

The thrill-ride doesn't stop there as the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series invades the Sonoma Valley for the first time, giving fans a big-time race weekend. The series is headlined by the Daytona Prototype class, which features exotic, thoroughbred racecars that reach top speeds of 185 mph. The GT class makes up the other half of the Rolex Series lineup and features race-prepared versions of today's popular international and American-made high-performance sports cars and coupes such as the BMW M3, Porsche GT3 and the Pontiac GTO. You can expect more than 40 entries on the track at the same time between the GT and Daytona Prototype classes.

The Grand-Am Series will run its feature on Saturday, Aug. 26, with the IRL set to take the green flag on Sunday, Aug. 27. There will also be two main events in the Menards Infiniti Pro Series, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Get your tickets today!
