Infineon Raceway, Sonoma Valley Groups Host 3rd annual High-Powered Toy Drive

All items collected during the toy drive will be used for the "Race to the Holidays Christmas Party" at Infineon Raceway in December. The party is for Sonoma Valley children in-need. People are encouraged to drop-off new, unwrapped toys at one of the following locations and times (Monday-Friday) between Nov. 14-Dec. 15:

• Valley of the Moon Boys and Girls Club, 100 Verano Ave., Sonoma, 938-8544, www.bgcvom.org, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.
• Valley of the Moon Teen Center, 17417 Sonoma Highway, 939-1452, 3 p.m.-7 p.m. You can also drop toys off at Odyssey Travel, 440 Fifth Street, Ste. A, 938-8812, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Stand By Me Mentoring, 18606 Riverside Dr., Sonoma, 996-6843, www.sonomamentoring.org, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
• Willmar Center for Bereaved Children, 579 First St., West, Sonoma, 935-1946, www.willmarcenter.org, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Toy drive organizers hope to collect more than 300 toys for children ages 2-15 years-old. All toys will be used for the party, which will be held at Infineon Raceway and feature everything from caroling to a visit by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. You can register your child for the party at the Valley of the Moon Boys and Girls Club; Valley of the Moon Teen Center; Stand by Me Mentoring; and Willmar Center for Bereaved Children (addresses and phone numbers above). Registration is from Nov. 14-Dec. 9.

You can also donate your new, unwrapped toy by attending the 9th annual Holiday Open House and Toy Drive at Gundlach Bundschu Winery in Sonoma (2000 Denmark St.,) on Saturday, Dec. 3. The event is open to the public from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m., featuring holiday fare and shopping specials. You'll also be treated to a free tasting with your toy donation!

Because of space limitations, the "Race to the Holidays" party is limited strictly to the children and either their parent(s) or guardian(s). Also, the party is limited strictly to those who are pre-registered through one of the groups. Walk-ups on the day of the event will not be accepted.
