National recording artist and Northern California native Chris Isaak will not only sing the national anthem, he will also give a short performance in front of the main grandstand prior to the green flag being dropped for the Dodge/Save Mart 350.
Isaak, a Stockton native, is best known for his hit single "Wicked Game," which became a top-10 hit in 1991 and helped launch his career, which has included several albums. His latest effort, "The Best of Chris Isaak CD," was released in May.
Isaak will entertain the crowd on Sunday of race weekend with a mini-concert that is expected to span approximately 20 minutes. He will then conclude pre-event ceremonies by singing the national anthem.
Isaak has starred in his own television show ? "The Chris Isaak Show" ? (2001-2004), and he has also appeared in numerous films including, "Married to the Mob" (1988), "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991), "Little Buddha" (1993) and "That Thing You Do!" (1996).
Isaak is scheduled for upcoming Northern California concerts in Saratoga (Mountain Winery, July 17-19) and Kelseyville (Konocti Harbor, July 22).
