Open-wheel race fans are encouraged to officially "save the date" in August when Infineon Raceway recognizes the union of the IndyCar® Series and Champ Car at the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma County.
After 12 long years, open-wheel racing is again united with the news that the IndyCar® Series and Champ Car have joined together, beginning with the 2008 season.
In honor of this historic union, Infineon Raceway will offer a FREE full-weekend garage pass to the first 250 race fans to purchase a full-weekend ticket to the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma County, Aug. 22-24.
The regular price for a full-weekend garage pass is $50, but raceway officials have decided to offer the free pass as a "wedding favor" of sorts to race fans in Northern California and beyond. It's a way to bring the two open-wheel families together, and what better way to celebrate the marriage of IndyCar and Champ Car than by seeing the two newlyweds up close and personal in the Infineon Raceway garage.
