Race fans will get the opportunity to meet top NHRA drivers Cory McClenathan, Rod Fuller, Jack Beckman and J.R. Todd at the 2nd annual Burnout Bash Party on Wednesday, July 23, at the legendary Fior d'Italia Restaurant in San Francisco.
Burnout Bash is the official fan kickoff party for the FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals at Infineon Raceway, July 25-27, and drivers will be on-hand for a wonderful four-course Italian dinner, as well as a driver question-and-answer session, autograph session and more.
NHRA driver J.R. Todd (Lucas Oil Octane Booster dragster) took home the Top Fuel victory in Sonoma in 2006, while Cory McClenathan (FRAM dragster) nabbed top honors in 1997. Beckman (Valvoline/MTS Funny Car), who has also served four years as a U.S. Air Force Sergeant, looks for his first Funny Car class win in Sonoma in 2008, as does Fuller (Caterpillar dragster) in Top Fuel.
New for this year's event will be a one-hour Texas Hold ‘Em Charity Poker Tournament featuring the drivers. The poker tournament, which will be hosted by River Rock Casino, will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Fior (www.fior.com), followed by no-host cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m.
River Rock Casino will present a $1,000 check to Speedway Children's Charities in the name of the tournament winner. Speedway Children's Charities is the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway, with all proceeds benefiting needy youth groups in Sonoma County.
In addition, the night will feature giveaways, as well as Lamont & Tonelli, the popular morning show duo on The Bone 107.7 FM out of San Francisco. Lamont & Tonelli will battle the NHRA drivers in the poker tournament.
The evening will be hosted by long-time Infineon Raceway announcer Dick Sisich.
Cost is $57 per person or $107 per couple - each ticket to Burnout Bash also includes a FREE weekend pass to the NHRA Division 7 Drag Races, presented by Korbel, at Infineon Raceway, Aug. 1-3.
