Race fans are invited to hit the road with Infineon Raceway on Thursday night, May 8, as it heads to the East Bay city of Concord for "Infineon Raceway Night" at historic Todos Santos Park.
It's an opportunity for Infineon Raceway to recognize the great motor-sports fans of Concord, who have supported the Sonoma Valley facility for decades. Concord ranks as one of the raceway's top areas for selling race tickets each year.
The event is not only a celebration of motor sports, but it will also serve as the kickoff to Concordstock, a weekly series of free concerts at Todos Santos Park beginning May 8 (www.concorstock.org/). There will also be a Farmer's Market and other displays in the park to keep you busy. So whether it's music, food or racing, you'll have one-stop shopping in Concord beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 8.
For race fans, please don't miss a drive of four stock cars through the streets of Concord under a full Concord Police Department escort. The racecars will traverse through some of Concord's downtown streets before pulling into Todos Santos Park. Once there, Infineon Raceway President and General Manager Steve Page will present the ceremonial "Keys to Infineon Raceway" to Concord Mayor Bill Shinn in recognition of the great motor-sports fans of Concord.
There will also be other race cars on display, ticket giveaways, and even the screening of NASCAR 3D movie. Don't miss out on this great night to usher in the 2008 Big O Tires Racing Season at Infineon Raceway. For details, call 800-870-RACE.
