Bay Area drivers pocketed three victories on Sunday at the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival at Infineon Raceway.

Petaluma’s Dave Vegher made it a sweep for the weekend, taking the checkers on Sunday in Group 5B (1965-1988 IMSA GTP Cars), piloting a 1976 Lola. The victory capped a perfect weekend for Vegher, who also won on Saturday in his 1966 Elva in Group 5A (1961-1966 Sports Racing Cars).

Other Bay Area winners on Sunday included Danville’s Peter Giddings (1935 Alfa-Romeo) and Larkspur’s Art Hebert (1963 Lola). Giddings competed in Group 1B (1914-1949 Pre-War Sports and Racing Cars), while Hebert won in Group 4B (1958-1963 Formula Cars).

Giddings went wire-to-wire for the win in the 12-lap feature, while Hebert passed San Francisco’s Danny Baker on the second lap and never looked back. Hebert’s race also spanned 12 laps.

Sunday’s action culminated a great weekend of racing on the 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course. There was competition in 13 divisions over the two days, with 375 entrants.

Other winners on Sunday included Monterey’s Don Orosco (Group 2B, 1958 Lotus); Reno’s Terry Gough (Group 3B, 1965 Corvette) and Santa Clara’s Jim Hague (Group 6B, 1972 Javelin).
