Wednesday, May 10, 2006

SONOMA, Calif. - Five-time AMA champion Rich Oliver will be one of several artists featured at Infineon Raceway in a motorcycle-themed art show during the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown weekend, presented by Supercuts, May 19-21.

The art show will feature a variety of artists who work in a range of mediums, including fine art and photography. Oliver, who has become an accomplished abstract artist, will also be inducted into the raceway's Wall of Fame over the weekend, along with Honda's Miguel Duhamel, and will be part of the on-track announce team.

The show will also feature legendary motorcycle racing artist Rod Organ and tattoo-artisan Dana Tyrrell (Santa Rosa). Organ was commissioned by Ducati in 2003 for an original painting to celebrate the manufacturer's return to MotoGP and he is now the official artist of Ducati Motor in Bologna, Italy.

The show will also feature the work of a variety of accomplished racing photographers, including Chucke Walkden, James Wirth, Ian Donald and Mike Doran. Walkden is the official photographer of Infineon Raceway.

The show will be held in the downstairs Comcast Media Center (adjacent to the main grandstand in the paddock area) all weekend and admission is FREE.
